Born in 1755.  He was a Virginia Private in the Revolutionary War. He married (1) Catherine Beam (1760-1821), (2) Martha Rees (1777-1855); children: Anna b. 1779, Phebe, Elizabeth, Sarah, Richard b. 1786, John, Daniel Sophia, Benjamin, William, Rachel, Isaac and Mary b. 1806.  He and his wife Catharine, and their children were some of the earliest settlers of Licking County, having moved there from Allegany County, Maryland, around 1800.  He received a pension for his service in the Revolutionary War at *S4302.  He died in 1835 and was buried at Beard Green Cemetery, Jacksontown, Licking County, Ohio.   References:  56th-77th Annual Reports DAR.  Senate documents (United States Congress, Senate).  Government Printing Office: Washington, DC.  History of Licking County, Ohio, by E.
