Nathaniel Greeley/Greele was born on 28 October 1744 at Hudson, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, a son of Samuel Greeley and Abigail.
During the American Revolution, Nathaniel was a private in 1775 in the Ninth Company of Captain Josiah Crosby in the Regiment of Colonel James Reed. However, his service length is unknown; he was at Wilton on 3 June 1776, when he signed the Association Test.
Nathaniel married Lydia Cram, on 28 May 1768, in Wilton, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire. Their known children were:
Lydia was born in November 1769.
Abigail was born in 1771.
Nathaniel was born on 18 August 1772 and died in 1776.
An unknown son was born on 7 April 1773.
Samuel was born on 27 April 1774.
Sarah was born on 4 January 1776.
Esther was born on 2 December 1778.
Nathaniel “Nathan” Jr. was born on 15 February 1781.
Abel was born on 1 April 1783.
John was born on 8 January 1785.
Joseph was born on 31 December 1786.
Cyrus was born on 25 September 1788.
Hiram was born on 16 May 1790.
Solomon was born on 7 March 1793.
Nathaniel died on 16 December 1819 in Andover, Windsor County, Vermont, and was buried in the Middletown Cemetery at Andover.

Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal.
