Qualifying Service Description:
  1. Enlisted in the Army as an orderly Sergeant for the term of 3 years in January 1778 in the County of Caswell and State of NC
  2. Served in Capt Hasekiah Rise's Compay, 9th Regt of NC Troops, Commanded by Colonel John Williams
  3. Ordered from Caswell County to Halifax County, NC to the Roanoke River, that shortly after and compelled to return home, having served in said Corps, a period somewhere between 9 and 12 months. On his return home he procured a man by the name of William Hobbs to serve the remainder of the time of his enlistment.
  4. He also served as a Minute Man, resided in Caswell, County, NC which was commanded by Capt Waddy Tate
