Born March 17, 1750 near Belfast, County Down, Ireland.  He was a Private in the New York Militia under Colonel John Williams, and fought at Ticonderoga under Ethan Allen.  He married Mary McBurney (1750-1819) in 1770; children: John b. 1775, William, George and Jane b. 1780.  He died November 15, 1822 and was buried at Seceder Cemetery, Reynoldsburg, Franklin County, Ohio.  References:  Revolutionary War Graves Register.  Clovis H.
