Henry Ginger, Sr. volunteered at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at the age of 16 years as private for three years, under Captain Walter Denny's Company in 7th Pennsylvania Regtiment commanded by Colonel Butler, under General Washington; engaged in Crossing of Delaware, Trenton, Brandywine, Germantown, Valley Forge, and was taken prisoner when Captain Denny was killed at Doylestown. He was discharged, Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
