GILFILLAN, THOMAS (Ross County). Born in 1751 in County Derry, Ireland. He served as a private in Captain John Van Meter’s Company in the 4th Battalion of the Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania Militia. He married Agnes High (1763-1828); children: John b. 1785, Alexander b. 1786, Matthew b. 1789, Thomas b. 1791, Adam b. 1792, Agnes b. 1794, Jane/Jean b. 1796, James b. 1798, Mary Ann b. 1800, Elizabeth b. 1805 and Rachel b. 1807. He died on March 28, 1816 in Twin Township, Ross County, OH and buried in the Shoults Cemetery (Storms Station) on the Spargursville Road in Twin Township, Ross County, Ohio. Inscription: Thomas Gillfillan Died March 28, 1816. Cemetery Notes: The cemetery is located on the east side of Spargusville Nipgen Road (Township Road 149) about 0,7 miles south of its intersection with Camelin Road (Township Road 154E).The cemetery is located in Twin Township, Ross County, Ohio. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
