Author: Andrew Cyril Banks
Christian was of Manor Township, Lancaster Co. PA.

A farmer and miller by trade. In the winter of 1777-1778, he and his father Henry were recorded at Elizabethtown, as being "Waggonmasters", in service above a month, delivering supplies to the Army camp, and could not march until they returned. Christian's service recorded through 1783, he served under Col. Ziegler, in the 9th Battalion, Lancaster Co, Militia. Removed to Westmoreland, PA, after 1785. By 1st wife Anna Schenk, he had 8 children, Martin, Daniel, Christian, Barbara, Jacob, Henry, Abraham, Nancy. Married 2nd wife, Magdalena, by whom he had 3 more sons, David, Joseph, Simon. His Will probated in Greensburg PA in February 1835. Burial in Funk Cemetery, behind Apples Mill United Brethren Church, near West Newton, PA. Faded stone recorded as stating, "aged 82 years, 11 months, 24 days"
