Author: Michael B. Gunn
Born in 1759 in Pennsylvania. He served as a Soldier in Captain Andrew Bolley’s Company, 5th Battalion, Chester County, PA Militia in 1780 and in Captain Henry Ferree’s Company, 5th Battalion, Chester County, PA Militia in 1782. He married Barbara Long (1765-1849); children: Frederick, Henry, Daniel, Sarah, Adam, Amy and Abraham. After the war he moved from Pennsylvania to Washington Township, Columbiana County (now Carroll County) OH. He died on February 27, 1824 and buried at Harsh Swamp Cemetery, Washington Township, Carroll Co., OH 44615. Cemetery notes and/or description: The cemetery is located on the north side of Lunar Road NW (Township Road 234) about 600 feet east of its intersection with Ruby Road NW (Township Road 465). The cemetery is located in Washington Township, Carroll County, Ohio. Veterans Grave Registration Carroll County, Ohio (Washington DC, Works Progress Administration.) Has a VA tombstone.
