Francis Marion Farley, Jr. was born at Henrico County, Virginia, in 1726, a son of Francis Marion Farley and Nancy Anna Whitlow. He served at the Battle of Point Pleasant, On 10 October 1774, at Mason County, Virginia. He took an Oath of Allegiance at Montgomery County, Virginia. He served in Adam Clement’s Company of the Virginia Militia, 1 May 1781.
Farley married Nancy Ann Blankenship (1740-1829), at Chesterfield County, Virginia, about 1760. They were the parents of Nancy Elizabeth, Mary Polly, Francis, III, Joanna, Drewry, Edward, and Gideon.
Farley owned 376 acres at Henrico County, Virginia, 5 September 1749.1 He appeared in the White County, Illinois, State Census, dated 22 November 1820. He died in 1829 at Old Shawneetown, Gallatin County, Illinois. He and his wife are buried at the Old Shawnee Cemetery, Old Shawneetown, Gallatin County, Illinois.
