EVERETTS, AMBROSE, (or Evarts), (Washington County)  [39.41998 -81.45187]

Born in August 1759 at Guilford, Connecticut.  He enlisted in 1776 and served to the close of war.  He married Achsa Bingham.  Ambrose Everts (or Evarts) was the fourth of six sons of Silvanus Everts of Guilford, Connecticut.  Silvanus Everts moved from Guilford to Salisbury, then in 1770 to Vermont.  Ambrose Everetts died in 1799 and was buried at Mound Cemetery, Marietta, Washington County, Ohio.  Grave unknown.  GM by Marietta Chapter, D.A.R. marker is dated 1925.  References:  Public Records of Connecticut, Vol. 2, pg. 142.  NSDAR Natl. Ambrose Everts was born November 27, 1759 at Guilford, Connecticut, a son of Sylvanus Everts and Elisheba. He served in the Connecticut Militia, responded to the Lexington Alarm as a sergeant from the town of Guilford, Connecticut, and served as a Lieutenant in the 7th Regiment of Connecticut Militia commanded by Colonel William Washington. He married Achash Bingham (1760-_) in Salabury, Connecticut; children: Sylvanus b. 1787, Achsah b. 1789, Louisa b. 1795, Gustavas b. 1797 and Timothy b. 1801. He died at 43 years of age in 1802 at Marietta, Washington County, Ohio, and was buried at Washington County. His final resting place is not known.
