Henry Enoch and his wile Elizabeth Ross from Bucks Co., PA, settled in Frederick Co., VA part of which became Hampshire Co. in 1753 and later part of West Virginia. Their land had been surveyed by George Washington for Henry's parents Henry I and Sarah. They were among the first families 10 settle on the west side of the Monongahela River in what was then part of Augusta Co., VA
