Amos Emerson, (I), was born on 12 DEC 1738 to Elizabeth (Page) & Timothy Emerson 1705-1776, at Haverhill, Essex County, Massachusetts. Timothy & Elizabeth were married in Haverhill on 15 DEC 1731.[1]

Children of Elizabeth (Page) & Timothy Emerson:

[Rachel, b. 27 AUG 1732; married 06 DEC 1753 Evan Jones.

Timothy, b. 08 JUL 1734; died young.

Day, b. 02 JAN 1736-1777; PVT., served in the Revolution. KIA. Fathered children.

Amos, (I), b. 12 DEC 1738; (my ancestor), CPT., served in the Revolution.

Timothy, b. 29 JAN 1740-1818; 1LT., served in the Revolution.

Thomas, bapt. 02 AUG 1741.

Abraham, b. 02 JAN 1743; SGT., served in the Revolution.

Hannah, bapt. 27 MAR 1743, (twin with Abraham).

Jonathon, b. 25 DEC 1744-1785; 1LT., served in the Revolution.

Esther, bapt. 03 FEB 1745, (twin with Jonathon).

Moses, b. 05 FEB 1746; CPT., served in the Revolution.

Ruth, bapt. 04 OCT 1747.

Elizabeth, b. 26 FEB 1752; married Timothy Kendall of Litchfield, NH.][2]

 

Amos Emerson, (I) married Susanna Morse on 18 NOV 1762 at Chester, Rockingham County, NH.[3]  Amos was serving on the Chester, NH Committee of Safety at the start of the Revolution and entered service as a 2LT. on 25 APR 1775, in the 10th Company of the Third Regiment NH Infantry.[4]  Amos was at the Battle of Bunker Hill and was promoted to captain on 07 NOV 1776.[5]  Amos was then in Colonel Cilley’s Regiment in February of 1777; and after the war received a pension from the government dating 07 APR 1818.[6]  Amos, (I), died in 1823 and was buried in Hill Cemetery, (Village Cemetery), Candia, Rockingham County, NH.
