Abraham Emerson (Abraham7, Joseph6, Nathaniel5&6, Thomas3, Robert2, Thomas1) was born 19 Sep 1752 Lyme, CT. and died 04 Jul 1821 in Lyme, CT. Abraham is buried in Marvin Cemetery in Lyme, CT. His grave stone reads (Here all in rest and sweet repose. Here all my sorrows cease. For Jesus meets my spirit here and kindly whisper peace.) He died of a fever. Abraham married (1) Mary (Rogers?) (2) Lucy Comstock 13 Jun 1813. She was born 12 Jun 1775 in CT. and died 23 Mar 1858 in East Haddam, CT.
Abraham was also the first tenant farmer in Lyme, CT. He received one-half of the house and barn for one-third of the years produce for his rent.
Abraham was a private in Capt. Seth Holmes Co., Col. Chapman regiment 1778. This is listed in the CT. Historical Society’s Collection Vol. 12 page 179, CT. Johnson, CT. Men in the Revolution page 532 and Veterans death records at the Hartford, CT. State Library (8087). Abraham was a private.
Abraham & Mary had 8 children all born in Lyme, CT. Theophilus born 15 Apr 1777 died 14 Nov 1863 in Conquest, New York. Elisha born 1780 died 27 Oct 1851 Lyme, CT., Clement B. born 01 Mar 1781 died 28 Jul 1849 in Conquest, New York, Abraham III born 1784 died aft. 1830 Union, Penn. Lydia born 7 Oct 1792 died 28 Dec 1873 Lyme, CT., Esther Emeline born 1809 died bef. 1880 Lyme, CT. Benjamin birth unknown moved to Bath, New York and Hannah Mary birth unknown.
