Corporal, Capt. Amos Turner's co., Col. John Jacobs's (Plymouth Co.) regt.; enlisted July 26, 1780; service, 3 mos. 8 days, travel included; company raised to reinforce Continental Army for 3 months. Private, Capt. John Shaw's co., Col. Abel Mitchel's regt.; service, 9 days; company marched to Rhode Island March 6, 1781, by order of His Excellency John Hancock on a 40 day campaign. Private, Capt. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
