DUER, JOHN SR. (Mahoning County)       [41.06873 -80.82011]

Born January 19, 1748 in New Jersey.  He served as a Private in the Bucks County, Pennsylvania, Militia in the 3nd Company of Colonel McElcane's Battalion.  He married Susanna Miller (1757-1838) in 1773; children: Esther, Thomas b. 1775, John/Jonathan, Joseph, Mary, Daniel, Elizabeth, and Sarah b. 1793.  He died August 3, 1831 and was buried at Covenanter Cemetery, Kirk Road, North Jackson, OH 44451-3093.  Mahoning County.  References: Published Pennsylvania Archives, Series 3, Vol. 6, pg. 183.  Roster of Revolutionary War soldiers buried in Ohio.  Wilbur R.
