Born December 18, 1750 at Roxbury, Massachusetts, a son of Moses Draper (1721-1775) and Mary Alldiss (1719-1810), he served as a Private for eight days beginning April 17, 1775, under Captain Moses Draper; May 1, 1775, enlisted for one or two months under Colonel Gardner and Captain Moses Draper; Aug 27, 1776 for 3 months under Colonel Brewer and Colonel Cowel; in 1777 under Captain William Proctor of New Hampshire. His name appears on roll of the 2nd Company in Roxbury commanded by Captain Wm Draper in Colonel Wm Heather's Regiment, April 19. He married Silence Tiley Copeland (1755-1804) May 11, 1775; Children: Asa, Moses, Luke, Lucy, Betsey, Abel and Polly. He died February 2, 1845 and was buried at Draper Cemetery, Hudson, Summit County, OH 44236. MI: "Jonathan Draper born Dec 18, 1750, He died February 1845." GM by S.A.R. DAR# A033556. Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
