Author: Michael B. Gunn
Born on April 1, 1759. He served as a Private under Captain Samples’ Company of the 10th Regiment on the Pennsylvania Line commanded by Colonel Hampton, his affidavit dated July 28, 1820 stated his military service began somewhere around the close of 1777 and extended three years and was in the battles of the Blockhouse, Stony Point & Springfield. He was discharged in the Spring of 1781 after the continued service for that time. He Married___; children: Mary and John. He lived in Lancaster Pennsylvania when he enlisted in the PA Army and moved to Belmont County, OH in 1820. He was Pensioned, having applied on June 22, 1818 in Belmont County, OH Ref. S43511.
