The following biography of Andrew Deming was posted anonymously at findagrave.com. I am not the author.
Birth: 14 Jan 1761 Norwich, New London County, Connecticut, USA
Death: 25 Nov 1828 (aged 67) Avon, Livingston County, New York, USA
Burial: Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands, Albany County, New York, USA
Bio: The following is taken from: "Genealogy of the Descendants of John Deming of Wethersfield, Connecticut, by Judson Keith Deming, Dubuque, Iowa, 1904
Andrew Deming (or as he is frequently called "Andros" Deming), became a sailor. He is the son of John Deming and Sybil Unknown. His love for the sea seems to have been inherited by his descendants for many succeeding generations. On January 11, 1781 in the descriptive list of the men in the service of the Revolutionary Army, Andrew is described as, "Aged 20, Stature 5 ft. 7 1/2 inches, Complection dark, Rank Matross, Enlisted November 1, 1779, Term of service during the War." (Taken from, MASSACHUSETTS MEN OF THE REVOLUTION, Page 664).
Andrew was a grantee in Salisbury, Connecticut, in 1795, but does not appear upon the records of that town after 1797, at which time he probably moved to Coxsackie, New York. According to family tradition, Andrew was in the Battle of Long Island. He received both State and Continental bounties for his services.

Send a biographical sketch of your patriot!
Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
