National Archives W-8657- County of Hopkins --BLWT 49037-160-55.
1779 in Wilkes County in the state of N. Carolina where he then resided he volunteered and served a tour of three months. March or April 1780 in Wilkes County aforesaid he substituted for one Nathen Sparks for three months under Lieut. Wm. Reynolds, Capt James Henderson, Maj Brickle & General Caswell of the N Carolina Militia. More service, Etc.
He states that the aforesaid several tours together make two years- one month -- three weeks which he hath fully served his country in the Revolutionary War.

His grave site is located Flat Creek Cemetery, Mortons Gap, Ky.
