Isaac Davenport was born on 24 May 1730 in Dorchester, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, the son of Ebenezer Jr. and Submit (Howe) Davenport.
He married in about 1748 to Mary Pray, and they had the following known children:
Josiah was born on 19 February 1749
Hannah was born on 26 June 1751
Joseph was born on 4 January 1753
Isaac How was born on 14 August 1754
Lydia was born on 18 May 1756
Samuel was born on 24 October 1757
James was born on 13 October 1759
Thomas was born on 24 October 1761
Mary “Polly” was born on 24 September 1763 and married Enos Phillps.
Sarah was born on 14 October 1765
Ephraim was born on 24 August 1767
Ebenezer was born on 29 April 1769.
John was born on 19 April 1771
Daniel was born on 5 June 1773
He served as a Private in Captain Oliver Billing's Company with Lieutenant Clapp in Colonel Samuel Robinson's Regiment in Apr 1775. He was a Fourth Corporal in Captain Benjamin Gill's Company in 1776 at Dorchester Heights. In 1779, he was in Major Nathaniel Heath's Regiment.
The Patriot died on 29 March 1799 and was interred at Dorchester North Burying Ground.

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
