Birth: 06 Nov 1756 Norfolk / / VA
Death: 1826

Qualifying Service Description:
  1. Born Norfolk, VA, served in the Revolutionary Navy commanded by John Paul Jones;
  2. Dale was one of six captains chosen by Pres. Geo. Washington for promotion to Commodore that est. an effective post Revolution US Navy.
  3. Dale commanded an observation squadron between 1801 -02 at Tripoli.
  4. Died 24 Feb 1826 at Philadelphia, PA and was buried originally at Christ Church Burial Ground until his body was moved during 1888 to laurel Hill Cemetery,
