Directions to Cemetery / Gravesite:
  • This Cemetery used to be called the Cooley Cemetery. People began to call it the Glazier cemetery as not to confuse it with the other Cooley Cemetery located in Troy township. It is located in Section 22 of Carthage township
  • The cemetery is located on the east side of Glazier Road (Township Road 108) about 0.7 miles south of its intersection with Mill School Road (County Road 42)



Author: Michael J. Blum
Born on August 3, 1752. Vt. Served as a Private in Captain Chittenden's Company, Vermont. Revolutionary war documentation shows that David enlisted early in the year 1776 in Captain Samuel Wright’s regiment of Col. Seth Warner’s company of the Green Mountain Boys in Pownal, Vermont and served three months in Canada. In May 1776 at Chamblee in the Province of Lower Canada David Dailey enlisted as private in Wm. Satterlee's Co., (Satterly) Col. Elmore’s Regiment of the Connecticut Line. He enlisted in 1777, exact date not shown, and served in Capt. Jonas Galusha's Vermont Company and was in the battle of Bennington, length of service not given. He was allowed pension on his application executed June 15, 1818, at which time he was sixty-six years of age and resided in Athens Co., Ohio. David Dailey states in a deed dated May 23, 1789 that he was formerly of Shaftsbury, VT now of New York. Married (His will dated) June 9, 1826 mentions wife, Nancy; Children: He had two daughters and five sons, one of the latter was Benonah H. Removed to NY after his discharge from the army, thence to western PA from here to the Northwest territory in 1797. Farming. He was a famous hunter. He Died on June 9, 1826 and Buried in Glazier Cemetery ,Carthage Twp., OH. Fur information Nabby Lee Ames Chap.
