Service: Served as a private in Captain Roswell Downing’s Co., Col. John Ashly’s Berkshire County regiment. He enlisted 19 September, 1777 to 19 October 1777. Served 1 month at Stillwater.

Jonathan’s son Col. Abijah Curtiss (7 Jul 1773 -17 Feb 1834) married Betsey Stevenson (19 June 1776 – 16 Nov 1858). Her father Thomas Stevenson/Stephenson was also a patriot.
