Author: Luther Parrack
Patriot ancestor Leonard Cupp Sr., was born in Northampton Co, PA on Jan 17, 1755. He died in Preston County, VA (W.VA.) on August 17, 1834. A Private - Pennsylvania militia Virginia #13132, also listed is Number W4167 (I don't know what that is). He is listed in the DAR Patriot Index on pg.169. Enlisted Northampton County, PA in the fall of 1775. Pennsylvania Minute Men. Served seven months under Captains Leekefret and Greenwood in Pennsylvania Minute Men, commanded by Colonel Kiger. Saw service in Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, and the Indian Campaigns.
Leonard Cupp's wife was Susannah. Children in 1854 Preston County, West Virginia - Leonard Jr. (70), John (68), Christopher (73), William (60). Leonard Jr. was a Captain in the War of 1812.
