Born in 1764, in Rockingham County, New Hampshire, Daniel Clay served in the New Hampshire Line; he enlisted in l781 in Rockingham Township, New Hampshire and was discharged in 1783 at West Point, New York. He married Elizabeth __; children: Daniel Jr. b. 1796, Sarah, Eunice, Timothy and Jonathan. He was pensioned, applying July 13, 1819 in Washington County, Ohio, a resident of Salem Township Ref.# S42128 and receiving an annual allowance of $96.00. He died on November 9, 1823 in Salem Township, Washington County, Ohio. His grave site is unknown.

Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author.
