This cemetery has two (2) parts, the old or east and the new or west. You can not see one from the other, for the woods. The, east part is off, SR 122 or West Main St., and the West part is off Camden Road. On your map, it shows it all one. Someone, unaware of this, would never find a later burial, if buried in west part
Born 1747 in Pennsylvania. John enlisted in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, in January 1776, and served as a private in Captain Robert Adams and McDonald's Company of Colonel William Irwin's Pennsylvania Regiment, and was discharged February 1777. He served as a private in the sixth class of Captain William Moore's Company, 2nd Battalion, Cumberland County Militia, September 1781. He was made an ensign September 22, 1781 in Captain John Neeper's Company, 6th Battalion, Lancaster County Militia. He was an ensign in the Company of Robert Ramsey, Lancaster County Militia in 1781 and also an ensign in Captain Clerk's Company, Lancaster County Militia. He died in 1832 and was buried at Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton, Harrison Twp., OH. Cemetery Notes: Also known as Mound Hill Union Cemetery, this cemetery has two parts, the old or east and the new or west. One cannot see one from the other, for the woods. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format.
