Ephraim Case the fifth of eight children of Timothy and Sarah (Holcombe) Case was born in 1741 in Great Barrington, Berkshire, Mass. He died on 08 May 1801 in Sheffield, Berkshire, Mass.

Case, Ephraim. Private, Capt. John King’s Co., Hopkin’s (Berkshire Co.) Regt.; enlisted July 15 1776; discharged Aug. 4, 1776; service 20 days, by order of Brig. Gen. Fellows; also Capt. King’s Co., Col. John Ashley’s (Berkshire Co.) Regt. Enlisted July 21, 1777; discharged Aug. 15, 1777; Service, 25 days.
Case, Ephraim. Capt. John Spoor’s Co. Benjamin Symonds’s (Berkshire Co.) regt.,; enlisted April 26, ___; discharged May 20 {year not given, probably 1777} ; service 26 days, at Saratoga, by order of Maj. Gen. Gates; warrant allowed in Council June 12, 1778; also, Capt. Elijah Deming’s detachment from Col. Ashley’s regt..; enlisted June 4, 1778; discharged July 15, 1778; service, 41 days; detachment ordered to Albany by Gen. Fellows.

Case, Ephraim. Private, Capt. John Spoor’s co. , Col. John Ashley’s (Berkshire Co.) reg.; enlisted Oct.15, 1780; discharged Oct. 17, 1780; service, 4 gays; marched to the Northward by order of Gen. Fellows on an alarm at the time Forts Ann and George were taken by the enemy; roll called at Sheffield.
Case, Ephraim. Private, Capt. Enoch Noble’s co. , Col. John Brown’s regt.; enlisted June 29, 1777; discharged July 21, 1777; service 24 days ; company called out by Gen. Fellows and Committee of Safety at request of Maj. Gen. Schuyler.
Ephraim Case was buried at Barnard Cemetery (South Highway 7 ) Sheffield, Berkshire, Mass. Next to him lies his wife Naomi.
The child of Ephraim and Naomi Case includes:
1. Ann Case. She married Joseph Kelsey (1738-1776) in 1768 . 2. John Kelsey (1769- 1840).
