Qualifying Service Description:
  1. 1775, served as a Captain of a company of Minutemen, on alarm
  2. 1776-1778, served as a Captain in the Regiment of Colonel Thomas Carpenter. At various times, temporarily assigned to the Regiments commanded by Colonels Simeon Cary and John Hathaway
  3. 1779, commissioned as a 1st Major in the Regiment of Colonel Thomas Carpenter
  4. 1781, served as Lieutenant-Colonel Commandant in Luke Drury’s Regiment
