CARDER, SANFORD  (Fayette County)     [39.572 -83.435]

Born September 16, 1760 at Culpepper, Virginia. He served as a Private with VA in the Revolutionary War Militiaman under Captain Daniel Rickardson, and again in a Continental Dragoons of the Virginia Militia under Captain Gunn and Colonel Anthony White.  Served until 1784 according to his pension application, Pension Number S*W9377.  He married Nancy Ann Hoffman; children: Peter and Sanford Jr.  He died August 7, 1845 at Union City, Fayette County, OH and was buried in Fayette County, OH.  His final resting place is not known.  References: SAR Patriot Index Edition III (CD: PP2210, Progeny Publ., 2002) plus data to 2004.
