Author: Michael B. Gunn
Born June 17, 1760, David Butler served as a Corporal in Colonel Sherman’s Connecticut Regiment.  He married Olive Henry; children: Ann, Charles, Henry, and Leverett.  He died April 3, 1815, and was buried at Old Colony Cemetery, near Granville, Ohio.  His grave has a tombstone and a Revolutionary War marker.

Author: Thomas Delbert Hankins Jr.

David Butler was born in 1758 and died in 1815.  He was a private in Colonel Sherman's First Connecticut Regiment.  He enlisted April 27, 1775, when the regiment was formed at Norwich, Connecticut.  The regiment participated in the Siege of Boston, the Invasion of Canada, and the Battle of Trois-Rivieres. The regiment was active from 1775 until it was disbanded in 1776.
