He enlisted int e 2nd Regiment under Colonel William Maxfield, in Captain Joseph Brailey's New Jersey Company in 1775, discharged at Ticonderoga. In 1777 he re-enlisted for 3 years Captain Jonathon Philips New Jersey Company, under Colonel Israel Strive in the New Jersey Line. Abstract of Graves of Revolutionary Patriots Vol 1, Page -Serial: 11912; Vol 4, buried in Williamsburg Twp. Clermont Co. Ohio.
