PETER BUNDY was born on 11 Sep 1754 in Preston, New London, CT. He died on 09 Jan 1822 in Otego, Otsego, NY. He married Bersheba Avery, on 27 Apr 1776 in Westfield, Hampden, MA. She was born on 11 Jul 1759 in Southampton, Hampshire, MA. She died on 04 Jan 1832 in Otego, Otsego, NY.
Peter Bundy was born 11 September 1754 in Preston, Connecticut. He was the fourth child born to Peter and Priscilla [Prentice] Bundy and their oldest son. He was a teenager when his parents moved to Westfield, Massachusetts. Peter Bundy enlisted in Captain Malcolm Henry´s Company in Westfield on 10 May 1775. This Company was part of Colonel David Brewer´s regiment that was later designated the Massachusetts 9th Regiment. In early October 1775 Peter learned of the death of his father of fever back on the farm in Westfield. Peter wrote the letter to George Washington requesting a discharge from the Continental Army on 13 October1775. He was granted a discharge on 24 October 1775. Peter returned to Westfield. Peter Bundy returned to his unit at Camp Roxbury the on 23 December 1775. After the siege of Boston ended in the spring of 1776, Peter Bundy return home. He married Bersheba Avery on 27 April 1776 in Westfield, MA. Peter Bundy reenlisted again in Capt. David. Mosely's Company on 17 September 1777and participated in the Battle of Saratoga.
In 1787 Peter Bundy moved his family to Otego, Otsego County New York. In 1796 Peter was promoted to Captain in the Otsego County regiment of the New York State Militia. It is this promotion that gave him the title Captain Peter Bundy by which he was known for the rest of his life. Captain Peter Bundy died on January 9, 1822 at age 67and1/2 years. He was buried in the Bundy Family Cemetery in Otego, NY.

PETER BUNDY III was born on 31 Mar 1788 in Otego, Otsego, NY. vii. DAVID S. BUNDY was born on 10 Mar 1791 in Otego, Otsego, NY. Township, Otsego County NY. viii. MOSES BUNDY was born on 27 Jan 1794 in Otego, Otsego, NY. ix. SARAHA (SALLY) BUNDY was born on 28 Sep 1795 in Otego, Otsego, NY. x. STEPHEN A. BUNDY was born on 12 Jul 1797 in Otego, Otsego, NY. xi.
