Born on October 8, 1758 in Middlesex Township, New Jersey or Aboard Ship in the Atlantic Ocean, to Wilhelm Henry Henrich (1722-1793) and Ann (1726-_) Brandenburg. While residing about three miles from Fredericktown in Frederick County, Maryland, he volunteered in June, 1781, served six months in Capt. Michael Troutman's company, Lt. Col. Abner Ritchie's Maryland Regiment, was out in pursuit of Tories and was a guard to British prisoners in Fredericktown, Maryland. He married Catherine ___ ; children: Aaron, E. P. b. 1819, Mary Ann, Olivia, Katherine, Samuel b. 1782, Enoch b. 1803 and William. He continued to live in Frederick County until 1812 when he moved to Fayette County, Pennsylvania, in the spring of 1816, moved to Montgomery County, Ohio, and in the following fall, he moved to Bethel Twp., Clark County, Ohio. He was allowed pension on his application executed 2 October, 1832, then a resident of Bethel Twp., Clark Co., Ohio. No mention of his family was listed in his application for pension claim, but in Common Pleas Court the November term, 1837, a suit was filed for partition of land in New Carlisle as follows: Aaron Brandenburg adm. William Brandenburg, deceased vs. Enoch, J. G., and E. P. Brandenburg, residents of Indiana, Moses Byres and Mary Ann (wife, late Brandenburg), Cooper Lane & Olivia (wife, late Brandenburg), Henry Gephart & Katherine (wife, late Brandenburg), Henry, Samuel, and William Brandenburg. He died on August 17, 1834 and buried at and New Carlisle Cemetery, New Carlisle, OH. References: National Archives D.A.R. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format.
