Author: Dr. Michael Bernard Gunn
Born a resident of Salisbury. He enlisted May 21 during the war. He was a Corporal in 1780, a Sgt in 1781, Seldon Butler's Conn. Company, Lt Lee's Company, served 130 days. In 1780 he was stationed as a guard to the town of Milford. ("Conn Men of Revolution" pp 208, 355 and 560). He removed to Canfield early in 19th century, lived for 7 yrs on a farm afterward owned by Philo Beardsley. He was buried at Canfield Cemetery, Mahoning County, Ohio. Grave not located. Born June 17, 1756 at Salisbury, Litchfield, Connecticut,
James Bradley served as a Sergeant with Connecticut in the Revolutionary War.
He married Asenath Bird (1752-1832); Children: Thaddeus, Dr. James Bird and Dr. Ariel (who died near Buffalo, N. Y. 1859). First resident of Johnstown.
He died March 3, 1817, aged 62 years and was buried at Johnstown (Northwien) Cemetery, Trumbull County, Ohio. Unable to locate grave. Pencil notes from Jas. K. Buell, 1926 Youngstown, Ohio, at call for names.

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
