Johannes “Hans” Boyer was born on December 14th, 1734 in Westchester, Bronx NY. Johannes was married to Anna Nancy Gartrant who was born in 1733 in Herkimer County, New York and they had nine children. In1754 Johannes settled in the town of Manheim, Herkimer Co. NY. Johannes Boyer was one of the first settlers on Glen's Purchase, a few miles north of Little Falls, NY. His 2d wife is Anna Barbara Wyant and they children to add to the growing family. In 1757, as a Colonial soldier, Boyer was sent to Fort William Henry. He was in the Revolutionary War and lost a team of horses and wagon at the Battle of Oriskany on Aug 6, 1777 (his name is on the Oriskany Monument there). He served in Col. Jacob Klock's Regiment (Benton's History of Herkimer Co. p. 436 and McWethy's Book of Names, pg. 132 & pg. 145 as John Bayer). Johannes died on 6 May 1810 in Manheim, Herkimer County, NY.

This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
