When Johann Jacob BOST was born on January 1, 1753, in Northampton, Pennsylvania, his father, Johannes, was 32 and his mother, Susannah, was 38. He married Catherine CRESS in 1776 in Cabarrus County, North Carolina.

He died on September 25, 1830, in Concord, North Carolina, having lived a long life of 77 years, and was buried in the St John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, east of Concord, Cabarrus County, NC. The church is located at 100 St John's Church Rd. His grave is a standing tombstone, inscription mostly illebigle and a bronze DAR marker in Plot 3-6-B.
