Benjamin Boone, Jr. was born on the 13 August 1741, in Exeter Township, Berks County, Pennsylvania, to Benjamin Sr. and Susannah (Likens) Boone. Benjamin Jr.'s grandfather, George Boone, was a Quaker who immigrated from England with his family to the American Colony of Pennsylvania in 1717.

He was married to Eve Loeffel on 1 October 1771 in Exeter Township. Among his children were:

  • Sarah was born on 2 June 1772 and married Conrad Adams.
  • Samuel C. was born in 1773 and married Mary Webb.
  • Susannah was born in 1775 and married [unknown given name] Tomlinson.
  • Hannah was born on 7 October 1778 and married Joseph Mead.
  • Mary was born on 6 February 1782 and married Samuel Webb.
  • Apollonia was born on 6 December 1782.
  • Abigail was born about 1786 and married [given name unknown] Stall.
  • Benjamin was born on 28 February 1789 and married Margaret Creveling.
  • Sibylla was born on 20 January 1793 and married Isaiah Webb.
  • Eleanor "Nellie" was born in 1796 and married Joshua Kilgore.

Benjamin served as a Private under Captain John Robinson in the Berks County Militia in 1781. A few years earlier, in 1779, Benjamin paid a supply tax to support the American cause of freedom. The Boone family were not strangers to the Patriot cause. Benjamin's first cousin, Daniel Boone, who is of the American frontier fame, was also a Patriot, as well as several other Boone relatives who served during the Revolutionary War.
He lived and farmed in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, for many years after the Revolution.

The Patriot died on 25 September 1824 and is buried at Hidlay Cemetery in North Centre, Columbia County, Pennsylvania.

Send a biographical sketch of your patriot!

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
