Author: Dr. Michael Bernard Gunn

Born June 27, 1756 at Perth Amboy, Burlington Co., N.J. He served as a Minute Man in the 8th Regt, New Jersey Militia during the Revolutionary War and participated in the battles of Trenton and Monmouth. He married Elizabeth Leech; children: Mary, Charlotte, & Elizabeth. He settled in Franklin Twp, Knox Co, OH, in 1811, upon the farm on which he died in his 90th yr on the 2nd of October, 1846 and was buried at North Fork Cemetery, Mt. Vernon-Tiffin Road, Chesterville, Morrow County, OH 43019. Ref: Norton's History Knox Co, p 2H9. 12th-19th Annual Reports DAR. Senate documents (United States Congress, Senate).
