Qualifying Service Description:
  1. Fifer in Captain Thaddeus Russell's company, Colonel Jonathan Brewer's regiment; muster roll dated 1 August 1775; enlisted 27 April 1775; with service of 3 months, 1 week, and 5 days; company return [probably October 1775]; order for bounty coat or its equivalent in money, dated Prospect Hill, 13 November 1775
  2. Captain Daniel Whiting's company, Colonel Asa Whitcomb's regiment; muster roll dated Camp at Ticonderoga, 27 November 1776; enlisted 1 January 1776; reported on command with General Lee
  3. Captain Thomas Brintnal's company Colonel Cyprian Howe's regiment ; enlisted 1 August 1780 and discharged 14 October 1780; service of 2 months and 17 days, at Rhode Island; enlistment, 3 months ; company raised to reinforce Continental Army

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life.
