Author: Donald Newcomb

James BELL (SAR Patriot #: P-112599) is reputed to have been born in 1706 in Ballygawley, Tyrone, Northern Ireland. He served in the military in the Revolutionary War about 1776.1 He died on 25 Mar 1793 at the age of 87 in Oakham, Worcester, Massachusetts.2,3 "In 88th year" (Chester VR), "Age 87. Born in Ireland" (Oakham VR). He was buried at Oakham Churchyard in Oakham, Worcester, Massachusetts.4

 

He married Martha CRAWFORD5 on 24 May 1733 in Rutland, Worcester, Massachusetts. She6 was the daughter of Aaron CRAWFORD and Agnes WILSON, born in 1706 or 1710 in Ireland. She died on 20 Sep 1795 at the age of 89 in Chester, Hampden Co., Mass..7,8 "Age 85" (Chester VR) "Age 89" (Oakham VR) She was buried at Oakham Churchyard in Oakham, Worcester, Massachusetts.9
