We know very little about Raymond Bedford. His father, Jonas, was a well-known planter in Rutherford Co. North Carolina who had served the British Army in the French and Indian War and when confronted by the Committee of Safety in the County, stated his loyalty to the King and County he has served in earlier times. The father joined Ferguson, was captured, escaped to London and after the war was given a full Pardon. Raymond the Son stayed behind and cared for the family, He and his mother Mercy Raymond Bedford are both cited for providing supplies to the American Cause.
Raymond has Pilgrim Roots through his mother’s descend from Peter Brown, Compact Signer.
Birth was about 1758 Probably in North Carolina
He died after 5-5-1820 in Rutherford Co. NC

Four sons and two daughters lived to adulthood: James who married Ann Pool, Jonas married Miss Suttle, Peter, died young and Hawkins Nancy who married William Lee, Massa married William Doggett

This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
