Author: Dr. Michael Bernard Gunn

Born Apr 19, 1758 at Frederick Co., Va. Enlisted Jan or Feb 1777. He was a Pvt under Capt Chas. Porterfield and Col Morgan. State of Va. Three yrs in serv. In battles of Somerset C. H., Amboy & Monmouth. He married Susannah Blann Battott, Aug 29, 1778 at Albemarle County. Children: Richard M, Nelson W, James, Patsey, Ansel, Blan, Willey H, Jemina, William and Winson. Pensioned July 6, 1818. He died in Sept 1839 near Dublin, Franklin Co, OH and was buried at Old Cem adjoining Dublin, on Bald Hill Road, Sonora, OH 43701. Ref : Margaret A. P.
