Benjamin Bass, son of Reverand Benjamin Bass and Mary Gardner, was born on 6 June 1741 in Hanover, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.
He married first Mercy Tolman of Scituate on 28 October 1765, who died 4 April 1792, and secondly Mary Eells on 3 March 1793, who died 8 January 1808. His known children:
Mercy was born on 14 September 1766 and married Heman Holmes
Benjamin was born on 26 June 1768 and married Lucinda Sylvester
Cinderella was born on 30 December 1770
Huldah was born on 16 May 1773 and married Robert Eells
Alden was born on 30 January 1776 and married Rhoda Tyler
Sarah was born on 14 December 1778 and married Joseph Eells
Elisha was born on 23 July 1781
Mary G. was born on 18 August 1784
Benjamin was a Deacon of the Church for many years. He also served as a Representative for several years: 1783, 1795, 1796-98, 1800, 1801, 1804, and 1806. His other civil service included being a Town Clerk from 1798 to 1807 and as a Selectman from 1783-1785.
He was a Lieutenant in Captain Amos Turner’s company, Colonel John Bailey’s regiment, which marched on the alarm of 19 April 1775, service of 14 days.
The Patriot died on 17 March 1821.

The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
