Qualifying Service Description:
1775, a committee member “to see that the results of the Continental Congress were observed in the town.”
1777, he served as a Private in the company of Captain Joseph Hutchins, commanded by General Jacob Bayley.
1778-1779, served as a Captain in Colonel Timothy Bedel’s Regiment.
1780, he served as a selectman in Haverhill.

Timothy Barron was born in Groton or Westfield, Massachusetts, about 1740. He moved to Haverhill, New Hampshire, about 1774. He gave the plot of land which later became the Horse Meadow Cemetery, where he was buried.
At the annual town meeting in March 1775, Timothy was chosen as a member of a committee “to see that the results of the Continental Congress were observed in town.” Timothy was a Private in Captain Joseph Hutchins’s Company in General Jacob Bayley’s Brigade of New Hampshire Militia in the Eastern Division of the Northern Department under Major General Gates from 18 August to 5 October 1777. He became a Captain in Colonel Timothy Bedel’s Regiment of New Hampshire Rangers for the defense of the frontiers on the Connecticut River from 01 June 1778 to 31 March 1779. He commanded Captain Timothy Barron’s Company in Bedel’s Regiment from 1 April 1778 to 1 April 1779.
Timothy served as a selectman in Haverhill in 1780.
Timothy married Olive (Moore) Russell. Their known children were:
Jonathan was born on 30 June 1760 and married Thankful Miner.
Deborah was born on 25 November 1763 and married Edward Pickett.
Hannah was born on 14 June 1766 and married Jacob Hurd.
Priscilla was born on 6 October 1768 and married first to Nathan Clough and second to Noah Moulton.
Sarah was born on 12 November 1771 and married Ezekiel Tewksbury.
The Patriot died on 7 November 1797, in his 58th year, and was buried in Horse Meadow Cemetery in North Haverhill, New Hampshire.

Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format.
