When John Barringer was born on June 22, 1752, in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, his father, John, was 31. He married Christiana Catrina Killian in 1774 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. They had 15 children in 33 years including Sarah, John, Mary, Jacob, George M. Daniel, and Paul.

He died on August 25, 1817, in Mount Pleasant, North Carolina, at the age of 65. He is buried in the St John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, east of Concord, Cabarrus County, The church is located at 100 St John's Church Road. Directions to cemtery: Go five and a half miles from Brancview Drive at Corban southesast to St John's Church Road or two miles west from Highway #49 interchange at Highway #73. The grave is in plot 25, section 4-N. Reported by the Cabarrus Black Boys Chapter, DAR.

This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
