Author: Mark Andrew Davis

Richard Aycock was born about 1740 in North Carolina.  He married Rebecca Thurman in 1763. They were the parents of Burwell, Henry, Joel, Richard, and Rebecca. There may have been additional children.

During the American Revolution, Aycock served as a private in Colonel Elijah Clarke's Regiment.  He saw action at the Battle at Kettle Creek. Additionally, during this time, he served as a grand juror.
