Served from the State of Virginia. Enlisted 20 June 1781, under Capt Ed McCarty, Colonel Drape's 2nd Rife Regt of VA
Served 6 months. Reenlisted for 3 month in Capt Voss' Virginia Company as substitute for John Veen/Bein. Later served 3
months in Capt Elisha Veil's Virginia Company as substitute for Mathew Pigon.

He hid his father's horses in the swamp from the Tories, and while his father was fighting his country's battle, he fought the

er one to toil and deprivation at home, until he was large enough to join the patriots in the field.

Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format.
