The Patriot's memorial displays a slab tombstone with a brass plaque type slab set during 1978 by the Boylston Historical Commission: "In Memory of Capt. Robert Andrews 1722-1789."

Author: Lt Col Gary Owen Green (Ret.)

Robert Andrews was born 8 November 1722 at Boxford, Massachusetts, a son of Robert Andrews, aged 37 years, and Deborah Frye, aged 32 years.  He married Lucy Sarah Bradstreet in 1776.  They had two children during their marriage.  He removed to Brookfield from Boxford, then, to the north Parish of Shrewsbury, that later formed Boylston, Massachusetts.

He was the captain of a company raised for Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, Militia which marched on the alarm of 19 April 1775, from the second precinct of Shrewsbury  to Cambridge, with service of one month.

He died 11 November 1789, at Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, aged 67 years.  He was buried at Boylston, Massachusetts.
