Owen Andrews    (GWINNETT COUNTY, GEORGIA)

In 1779, he volunteered for three months in the Fairfield District, South Carolina Troops in Captain Jacob Frazer's Company commanded by Colonel Thomas Taylor. He fought at the Battle of Stono Ferry. In 1780, he was drafted for one month of service under Captain Lewis Pope, for one month under Captain James Craig, and for two months under Captain James Frazer.  He was stationed at the High Hills of Santee until 1781. He then served under General Sumter and was at Congaree, Biggin Church, and Orangeburg. In 1840, he drew a pension for his services as a resident of Gwinnett County, Georgia.
