Jacob Alford was born on December 12, 1737, in New Kent County, Virginia, the child of Lodwick. He married Mary Pace; she was born in 1740 in Edgecomb, NC. He had five sons with Mary Pace, Sion Pace was born on December 12, 1763; James was born about 1764; Samuel was born in 1765; Warren Pace was born on 15 Mar 1770; Elias was born on 21 Oct 1779; and Wiley was born on 12 Jun 1783. They had three daughters, Cynthia Mary was born in 1773 and died in 1779; Charity was born on 4 Apr 1776 and Elizabeth was born in 1786.
Jacob was baptized Feb 18, 1738 New Kent Co. VA. His will was dated 4 Jul 1794. Jacob died in Jul 1814 in Robeson County, North Carolina, having lived a long life of 77 years. Some family tradition says he is buried in the Fulmore, sometimes called Ashpole Cemetery in Robeson Co. NC but there are no stones or other evidence of his burial there.The Ashpole Presbyterian Church Cemetery is in Rowlands, Southwestern Robeson County. Church is located at 192 Ashpole Church Road. Patriot biographies must be the original work of the author, and work submitted must not belong to another person or group, in observance with copyright law. Patriot biographies are to be written in complete sentences, follow the established rules of grammar, syntax and punctuation, be free of typographical errors, and follow a narrative format. The narrative should unfold in a logical manner (e.g. the narrative does not jump from time period to time period) or have repeated digressions, or tell the history of the patriot's line from the patriot ancestor to the author. The thinking here is that this is a patriot biography, not a lineage report or a kinship determination project or other report published in a genealogy journal. The biography should discuss the qualifying service (military, patriotic, civil) of the patriot ancestor, where the service was rendered, whether this was a specific state or Continental service, as well as significant events (as determined by the author) of the patriot's life. This is the entire purpose of a patriot's biography.
